Department of Chemistry
Chemistry — the center of all science, the foundation of all engineering
Department Overview
Chemistry is a branch of science dealing with elements and compounds — the building blocks of everything around us. Engineering requires applied science, and chemistry is at the center of all science.
The Department of Chemistry at MRIT teaches Engineering Chemistry to all first-year engineering students across all branches. The curriculum covers organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry as well as nanoscience. Engineering Chemistry serves as a vital bridge between basic sciences and core engineering subjects.
The department emphasizes quality education, individual student attention, and the development of globally competent engineers.
Subjects Covered
Engineering Chemistry is taught to all first-year engineering students across all branches. Topics include:
- Organic Chemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry
- Physical Chemistry
- Analytical Chemistry
- Nanoscience & Nanotechnology
The course serves as a bridge between basic sciences and engineering, providing students with the chemical principles essential for advanced engineering study.
