The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides an opportunity to the student youth to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes.
Motto
The motto of NSS is "NOT ME BUT YOU".

Constitution Day Celebration

4. Objective of the Activity: The Indian constitution is set up to ensure equal rights to everyone and to entitle people with the power to select their leader, practice their religion and choose the work portfolio that they like. The main objectives of the Indian constitution include sovereignty, socialism, secularism, democracy, and republic.
5. Outcome of the Activity: On November 26, 1949, the Indian Constituent Assembly formally adopted the Constitution, which came into effect on January 26, 1950, establishing India as a sovereign, democratic republic. In 2015, the Government of India formally declared November 26 as Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas).

4. Objective of the Activity:
1. ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸುವುದು: ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದ ದಿನವನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
2. ಭಾಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವುದು: ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಿಕೆ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ, ಕಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಗೀತದಂತಹ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವುದು.
3. ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು: ಆಧುನಿಕ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ರಚನೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಹೋರಾಟಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹನೀಯರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುವುದು.
4. ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವುದು: ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಗೌರವಿಸುವುದು.
5. ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಿನ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವುದು: ನಾಡಿನ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಐಕ್ಯತೆಯ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದು, ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ಸಂಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವುದು.

Outcome of the Activity: ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶಗಳು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವುದು, ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಏಕೀಕರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಡಿದವರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು. ಇದರ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶಗಳಾಗಿ, ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರತ್ನ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದಾನ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು, ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣದಂತಹ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳು ಜಾನಪದ ಕಲೆ, ಸಂಗೀತ ಮತ್ತು ನೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.

Objective of the Activity: The main objectives of a vigilance awareness program are to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life, raise awareness about the detrimental effects of corruption, and encourage citizens to participate in the fight against it. These programs aim to foster a culture of ethical conduct, strengthen public trust, and ensure corruption-free governance through education, pledges, and various public engagement activities.
5. Outcome of the Activity: Outcomes of a vigilance awareness program include strengthening ethical conduct and transparency, reducing corruption, and improving institutional accountability. They are achieved through a combination of public-facing activities, employee training, and systemic improvements like simplifying procedures to prevent misconduct and using technology for more effective vigilance.

Objective of the Activity: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's primary objectives were national integration, which he achieved by integrating over 560 princely states into India, and establishing national unity and strength. He also focused on building a stable and unified government by creating the modern all-India services and securing administrative stability during the partition. Other objectives included promoting socio-economic equality through policies like minimum wages and land redistribution, advocating for a secular nation, and supporting the welfare of underprivileged communities, rural development, and educational initiatives.
5. Outcome of the Activity: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's primary outcomes and legacy center on the geopolitical and administrative unification of India after independence and the establishment of its permanent civil service framework. Integration of Princely States, Establishment of Modern Civil Services, Post-Partition Relief and Restoration, Enduring Legacy.
Blood Donation Camp

4. Objective of the Activity: Raising awareness of the necessity of safe transfusion of blood and its components. Imparting knowledge regarding the importance of unpaid, voluntary blood donation. Motivating and encouraging people who are not interested in donating blood in spite of being a healthy person.
5. Outcome of the Activity: The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood. A blood service that gives patients access to safe blood and blood products in sufficient quantity is a key component of an effective health system.

4. Objective of the Activity: The objectives of celebrating Engineers' Day include honoring Sir M. Visvesvaraya and other engineers for their contributions to society and nation-building, promoting innovation and creativity, inspiring youth to pursue careers in engineering, fostering a spirit of problem-solving and ethical practices, and raising public awareness about the vital role engineers play in shaping the future through technological advancement and sustainable solutions.

Outcome of the Activity: Engineers Day celebrations lead to increased public awareness of engineering's societal importance, a greater appreciation for innovation and technological progress, the promotion of sustainable development through engineering solutions, a boost in professional development and a sense of community among engineers, and an inspiration for future generations to pursue engineering careers, all while commemorating the legacy of visionary engineers like Sir M. Helmet Awareness Program

Objective of the Activity: The main objectives of a helmet awareness program are to reduce head injuries and fatalities from road accidents by emphasizing the importance of wearing proper helmets, educating the public on safe road practices, promoting compliance with helmet laws, and fostering a culture of responsible riding and responsible gear selection for all road users, especially children and vulnerable populations.
5. Outcome of the Activity: Helmet awareness programs lead to increased helmet usage and decreased head injuries and fatalities, by fostering responsible riding behaviors and promoting a culture of road safety. While campaigns increase overall helmet use, they may not improve correct helmet wearing, and some target specific groups like children through community-based efforts.

Is it Harmony Day or Sadbhavana Diwas? It is known as Sadbhavana Diwas or Communal Harmony Day and is celebrated on 20 August every year.
5. Outcome of the Activity: National Sadbhavana Diwas serves as a reminder that unity and harmony are not mere concepts but virtues that need nurturing. In a diverse nation like India, celebrating such a day reinforces the message that differences can be celebrated rather than being divisive.

Drug Awareness Program

5. Outcome of the Activity: The initiative aims to strengthen coordination and collaboration and prevent the initiation of substance use through evidence-based interventions such as promoting life skills education in both schools and workplaces.
